Let Immigrant Crime and Justice, P.C. help you to address whether your criminal issues have created an immigration problem.
Immigrant Crime and Justice incorporated the Law Office of Karl W. Krooth
Karl Krooth, president of Immigrant Crime and Justice as well as one of the attorneys, offers consultations to discuss your potential for relief in criminal and immigration court. Karl assists foreign nationals to seek post-conviction relief in criminal courts as well as avoid immigration consequences in pending criminal matters before state superior courts and federal district courts.
Karl has practical experience in the representation of foreign nationals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Immigration Court, US Citizenship and Immigration Services (former INS) and Deferred Inspections, Customs and Border Protection Bureau.
Karl improves his edge by coordinating with private and non-profit attorneys specializing in immigration law as Law Enforcement/Defense Liaison for the Northern California Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, former board member of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild (NLGSF), former chairperson of the Immigration Committee for the NLGSF.
Karl also makes regular presentations on post-conviction relief and immigration consequences of crime to immigration practitioners and criminal defense attorneys. Karl speaks regularly at the annual conference of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Thousands of attorneys attend the conference, a subgroup of whom attend Karl’s speeches and read his articles on post-conviction relief, crime victims, as well as working with criminal defense counsel to mitigate immigration consequences. For some of the articles that he has authored and co-authored, see the following link: recent publications. Noteworthy presentations in previous years include an exploration of Comprehensive Immigration Reform for the American Immigration Lawyers Association of Northern California with Judith Golub and Dan Siciliano; speeches on immigration consequences of crime at Stanford Law School's Immigrant Rights Clinic,ILW.com, and the San Francisco Bar Association; as well as a panel on post-conviction relief with Norton Tooby and Ilyce Shugall (www.vblaw.com) at Golden Gate Law School.
Karl's practical experience in all phases of criminal prosecution and defense, and substantial exposure to immigration consequences of crime provides you with an assurance of quality representation.
Practice Areas
Immigrant Crime and Justice, P.C. represents two classes of clients: foreign nationals who have pending criminal charges or outstanding warrants for their arrest issued by the criminal courts, and foreign nationals who have already either entered pleas, taken their case to trial, or have unresolved police reports or citations that never resulted in a criminal complaint.Karl Krooth is president of Immigrant Crime and Justice as well as one of the attorneys.
Karl has honed his skills by gaining practical experience: first in criminal prosecution, and later as a defense attorney representing foreign nationals in criminal and immigration matters. Karl may be able to help convicted foreign nationals who seek representation in post-conviction relief in the criminal courts; at Deferred Inspections, Customs and Border Protection Bureau; before the Executive Office of Immigration Review, or in interviews for adjustment of status and naturalization before the legacy INS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services). Karl considers the client's goals, immigration status, family, future plans to remain in the US, and the facts underlying the criminal matter as he seeks to achieve the best disposition.
